The Directorate of the 5-th International Transport Corridor will be established in Chop

         The Union «European Union of Ukrainian Transport Companies» initiates establishment of the Directorate of the 5-th International Transport Corridor (IÒC-5) in Chop (Transcarpathian region) with an aim of ensuring real integration of Ukraine into the world transport and economic community, as «²nterfax-Ukraine» reports with a reference to the head of the Carpathian centre of the Union, Valentina Parokonnaya.

       «Taking into consideration the fact that the Transcarpathian region, reasonably called the west gate of Ukraine to Europe, has the most developed transport infrastructure out of the most perspective regions in the sphere of international transit, it is expedient to create such an organization just on this very territory», - told V.Parokonnaya.

        According to V.Parokonnaya, the Directorate of ITC-5 shall not be a state body, but representatives of transport organizations, forwarding associations and customs brokers should become its founders.

       The International Transport Corridor ¹5 (Italy - Slovenia - Hungary Slovakia - Ukraine - Russia) starts from Italian Trieste, passes through the territories of Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary and Ukraine in the direction of: Trieste Ljubljana - Zagreb - Budapest - Chop - Lviv, with a branch to Slovakia, the ITC ¹5à: Bratislava - Chop - Lviv, to Bosnia and Herzegovina , the ITC ¹5b: Budapest - Osiyek - Sarajevo - Plotze.
